Q-KON recently successfully completed the installation of the new 6.5m Ku-band antenna and HUB, designed and implemented for SkyeVine. The project is an addition to the existing teleport infrastructure situated at Business Connexion's premises in Midrand, South Africa.

With 213 rooms in a layout of eight separated villages interspersed with tall trees, dense foliage, buildings built with thick stone walls and thatch roofs, Wi-Fi coverage presented a particularly challenging RF environment.

As part of the Sendinel Project, the Agincourt Clinic in the Mpumalanga Province has now been connected to the internet. The aim of the project is to improve communication between clinics and their patients in rural South-Africa through implementation of the Sendinel system. Seven bachelor students at the Potsdam, Germany is working together on the project as part of their bachelor thesis. This journey was made possible from the chair of “Internet Technologies and systems” led by Prof. Meinel, SES Astra and others.
